how time flies
How time flies.
It's been ages since I've posted something here and a lot's happened. Since then, I've started both a diploma program for training and my MA in UP. I've continued tutoring Tintin. My lola's beein in the hospital and is regaining her strength (Yay!). And, oo nga pala, I've been coordinating my wedding.
Yup, I'm now engaged, and we have made reservations for our church and our reception. (More of the gory details as we go along).
I wasn't even aware how it happened, having talked about it for so long. We both felt that it was time fo us to start our own family. And who else to start it with but each other!
As naturally as it came for us to make a decision, it was definitely harder for me to break the news for my parents. I was a bit worried for their reactions (and probably mine). The story will go down the books that when I had enough courage to tell them, we ended up crying and laughing with my dad already reminscing about their wedding.
And I couldn't have it any other way. The bumps along this road as we fix all the details are as many as ever. Color motif? Venue? Souvenirs? Guest List? How many will go to the food tasting? The list is endless.
And I believe it will never end. For long after the cake is cut, we get to face this reality that our lives now becomes our life. We face the future as friends and moreso, partners.
I know the disagreements will not cease to multiply into fights, even. But I take comfort in knowing that we are improving, jsut like stones smoothed over by the river. Winnowing chaff from grain, learning more about each other and discarding those little irritations that in the end, don't really matter.
I told Mark that I am so very excited to coordinate our wedding. But I'm even more excited planning our future. There's no other feeling that can beat that.
